Rolling Stone Launches 2nd NFT Collaboration With Yuga Labs’ BAYC

BAYC x Rolling Stone

This past week, Rolling Stone Magazine and Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) launched their latest NFT collaboration. All in all, the latest team-up saw the sale of physical prints of two Rolling Stone x BAYC cover art pieces. What’s more, there were auctions for two 1-of-1 NFTs featuring animated versions of the same artwork.

All about the latest Rolling Stone x BAYC NFTs

The sale of the Rolling Stone x BAYC prints and NFTs went live on June 22nd. At that time, two physical prints went live on the BAYC store. Meanwhile, the auction for the two 1/1 NFTs went live on OpenSea. Notably, both the prints and the NFT auction were priced in APEcoin.

The two art pieces center around BAYC’s unofficial Ape Mascot, Curtis. The first print shows Curtis lounging in a hammock on the dock of the Bored Ape Clubhouse. The second one features Curtis’ Mutant Ape counterpart flying off of a slime-covered volcano on a motorcycle.

The sale for the prints lasted four hours, while the auction was open for three days. Needless to say, the auction was a huge success. To illustrate, the MAYC Curtis NFT sold for 22,696.969 APE ($103,460.97 at the time of purchase), while the BAYC Curtis NFT sold for 42,106.05 APE ($191,934.56 at the time of purchase).

This is now the second time that Rolling Stone has teamed up with the web3 juggernaut that is BAYC. And considering how well both collaborations have gone, it probably won’t be the last.
