Sports betting site, DraftKings has partnered with UFC to release an interactive NFT collection. Releasing as part of its football “Reignmakers” series, the DraftKings UFC NFTs will allow fans to build collections of UFC fighters to participate in fantasy sports. About the DraftKings UFC collection
According to a press release, the initial UFC NFTs will drop as DraftKings’ “Heatwave Collection”. The platform will base the NFTs on this summer’s UFC events schedule. It will begin with the July 2nd match between Adesanya and Cannonier.
All in all, the partnership gives DraftKings access to fighter IP from over 500 different active UFC athletes. Besides, the NFT holders will receive perks including access to “special” daily fantasy contests. What’s more, fans can participate in these contests for a chance to win cash, custom merch, and more.
“UFC has been a tremendous collaborator over the years,” said Beth Beiriger, SVP of Product Operations for DraftKings Marketplace. “Fight fans are already among the most engaged audiences, and we see these immersive technologies as bolstering the unique sports entertainment ecosystem we provide for consumers while also rewarding their undeniable passion.”
Currently, DraftKings is developing the exclusive Reignmakers UFC game. Once launched, it will have features such as missions, achievements, level-ups, and leaderboards.
