What did Takashi Murakami say about his Flower NFTs?

It’s been a tough few months for Takashi Murakami. The acclaimed artist launched his NFT collection titled Murakami.Flowers back in March. Of course, it was a long-expected drop, and the NFTs were presented as rare.

Two months after the drop, the NFT community accused Takashi Murakami of sniping his own Flower NFTs. To clarify, some collectors claimed that Takashi inflated the price of the collection to generate more hype around the drop. The artist didn’t make any statements about these allegations.

All in all, the Flowers NFTs’ floor price remained stagnant, OpenSea data shows. As a result, Takashi Murakami posted a tweet to apologize:

How did the NFT community react to Murakami’s tweet?

Collectors had mixed reactions to Takashi Murakami’s tweet. For example, many users showed their support in spite of the Flowers NFT’s trading volume.

In fact, Twitter user @elliott_kalenko even pointed out to one of Murakami’s earlier statements on the project:

“Please give it another 30 years. I’ll be gone from this world and the true value of my NFT project will become absolutely clear”.

Obviously, only time will tell the long-term value of the Murakami.Flowers collectibles. Overall, though, most of the NFT holders continue to support the artist.
