Versus Entertainment has partnered with Decentraland and Lumiere to develop NFT and metaverse angles for an upcoming NFT film, “Infinite Machine”. Adapted from Camilla Russo’s book of the same name, the film tells the story of Ethereum co-founder, Vitalik Buterin. In the run-up to its release, the film will release several NFTs, making it the first NFT-financed film.

So, let’s dive deeper into the Versus x Decentraland x Lumiere partnership and the NFT film, Infinite Machine.

About Versus x Decentraland x Lumiere Partnership

Versus, Decentraland, and Lumiere have inked a partnership to bring the NFT film to life. Firstly, Versus will produce the film in collaboration with director Ridley Scott’s production company, Scott Free.

Then, Lumiere, a Hong Kong-and Singapore-based entertainment specialist and Decentraland will develop crypto and NFT-focused plots. To explain, Lumier will build and integrate the experience of the film into Decentraland.

The film has a total budget of $16 million. To meet this, it will soon issue the third set of its NFTs in the coming months. Reportedly, the film is offering 10,499 unique NFTs designed by 36 artists. Some of the artists include Lucas Riberiro, Marella Gonzalez, and Eduardo Calegari.

As expected, a majority of the funds from the NFT sales will go into the movie’s budget. Parts of the proceeds will also go to the artists and the Infinite Machine DAO.

About the Infinite Machine NFT Film

Shyam Madiraju will write the screenplay and direct the NFT film, Infinite Machine. Meanwhile, Scott, Tom Moran, and Vera Meyer of Scott Free and Alejandro Miranda of Versus will produce the movie.

“This is a case that can transform how the entire industry develops and promotes its content to its fans and audiences,” Lumiere CEO Patrice Poujol told Variety.

Infinite Machine is yet another example of the vast possibilities that NFTs can offer to various industries, especially the film industry. As a matter of fact, last year, Anthony Hopkins released his new movie as an NFT. We can certainly expect more use-cases in the future.
