Getty Images To Launch NFTs In Collab With Candy Digital


British-American visual media company Getty Images and digital collectible platform Candy Digital declared an exclusive multi-year partnership arrangement! This makes Candy the sole developer and marketplace for Getty Images’ upcoming NFTs. Through this newly formed alliance, Getty Images and Candy Digital will collaborate to devise a collection of NFT products from Getty Images’ extensive library featuring some of the most iconic moments from the past 170 years.

Each year Getty Images covers more than 160,000 news, sport, and entertainment events.

“The introduction of photography represented a seismic shift in how we were able to document, store, and share our history. We’re thrilled to working with Getty Images to develop NFT products that creatively bring these iconic and rare photographs for people to experience and collect in a new digital format” – Scott Lawin, CEO of Candy Digital.

Getty Images and Candy Digital will unveil never-before-seen archival photographs. Alongside contemporary images in various digital formats for people to view and collect. The photographic library will traverse through art, culture, music, and world events, featuring more than 465 million images, including over 135 million analog photos from Getty Images. While containing some of the rarest images from iconic photographers, many of Getty Images’ analog archival photographs have never seen the eyes of the general public.

Collectors looking to snag their own Getty images can rest easy. Through Getty images marketplace on Candy, buyers can seamlessly purchase, sell and trade official digital collectibles. Additionally, the marketplace will support primary and secondary market transactions and purchases using credit cards or crypto payments. Furthermore, the NFTs will be minted on an environmentally friendly Ethereum side-chain called Palm.
