Agora Launches The 2022 Edition Of Its NFT Awards Show

Agora, one of the world’s most far-reaching digital art platforms, has just announced its third edition of the Agora Awards; sponsored by Ziliqa and Dignified Story Telling. The winners will each receive an initial cash price of $25,000. Additionally, their artworks will be converted to NFTs and auctioned off on the Agora Marketplace.

Artists from all around the world can now try their luck for a chance to win $25,000.

What is Agora?

Agora was founded in 2016 as a digital art platform that brings together artists, collectors and art enthusiasts. The platform features millions of photographs, graphic designs, music and videos from artists around the world. In addition to enjoying the digital art gallery, each artwork is available on the Agora marketplace.

Founder Octavi Royo founded Agora with the mission of empowering talent from all over the world and democratizing access to such talent. The awards, therefore, honour this mission by being open to content creators from around the world.

About the Awards

In order to participate, artists and creators must upload their works to the Agora app or website, available on both iOS and Android devices. Then, a team of curators will work on an initial shortlist that will be made public to all Agora users. Afterwards, the global community will vote for the final winners in each category.

Participants can submit their works till the 3rd of June. All participants must be older than 18 to participate in these awards. Furthermore, they need to be the original creator of the uploaded file. There are six categories: Photograph of the Year, Song of the Year, Documentary Film of the Year, Short Film of the Year, Story Behind the Photo Award, and Digital Artwork of the Year.

When commenting about the Agora Awards, Octavi Royo said: “We exist to empower global talent. There is enormous talent in every corner of the world, and our goal is to give this talent and their works the recognition they deserve.”

The winning artists will take part in the first edition of the NFT Awards Barcelona. This will take place between 27 and 29 October at the Cosmo Caixa Auditorium in Barcelona. According to Royo, this move will see Barcelona become the world’s epicentre for NFTs.

Additionally, the team will offer all finalists the chance to become part of the Agora marketplace. The Agora Awards follow the platform’s “Global Art Awards” – its most recent initiative to celebrate Earth Day and support the UN’s climate campaigns.
