The upcoming Taki NFT project could be a scam, according to a thread by one Twitter user. @anmehrotra27 says there is a lot of evidence to suggest that this is not a genuine project. In fact, they believe that the Taki collection is by the same people responsible for the What The Fox NFT mint a few days ago.
Is Taki NFT a scam?
The detailed thread by @anmehrotra27 has a lot of images and screenshots that appear to show some shocking similarities between the Taki NFT project and What The Fox.
However, the project has been fully doxxed and gone through a verification process by Alpha Labs and The Fellowship. Significantly, these two companies specialise in KYC and verification for new NFT projects.
@anmehrotra27 said, “Hello guys, I am writing this thread to warn you all against an NFT project @TakiNFT_ that is minting today. I have some strong reasons to suspect that this project is running by the same person behind @WhatTheFoxNFTwhich successfully minted out a few days ago.”
The founder of What The Fox, Stayrebel, is active on both Discord servers. What’s more, both Discords share an identical layout. Additionally, the rules for both servers are the same, word for word and have a lot of similar concepts. The tweets include images that show both Discord serves and the similarities between the two projects.
Red flags in NFT projects
One major red flag for any NFT project is the lack of a website. Currently, neither of these projects has one.
It is important to note that none of this confirms that Taki NFT is a scam but raises concerns about how the project was set up.
The Taki NFT project has gone through a verification and doxxing process by Alpha Labs and The Fellowship. Because of this, many will now believe that the project is legitimate. Both groups focus on providing a safer space for people joining NFT projects.
However, doing your research when choosing a project to join is essential. If something doesn’t feel right, you should avoid it.
