Chris: Hi there! Please introduce yourself.
Time Society team: As the Time Society team reviewed this initial question, we realized that this effort would not have been possible without each contributing member. From the art, to the code – to the historical research: each member brings something unique and valuable to the overall project. Seeing as we have been united from the onset of this mission, we decided that this questionnaire would be no different. As a team, we reviewed and answered these questions accordingly.
Chris: The Time Society is filling up the vacuum of historical representation in the NFT space. What exactly is the NFT theme? How will the tokens represent world history through the NFT?
Time Society team: After tracking the NFT market over the past year, it became apparent to our team that no one was attempting to immortalize the stories of history onto the blockchain. We decided to bring history to life through animated trading cards, which will ultimately catalogue the arc of time. This way, there will be a decentralized database – like an online Library of Alexandria. For as long as Web3 remains, mankind can never forget how we got to the current age. We aim to provide inspiration for the future that we know we can create. Each NFT artwork “revolves” to reveal a short educational description of your piece of history. In addition, in the OpenSea description will be an extended section that provides further in-depth context on your moment in time. We made an effort to produce insightful writings – we hope they provide valuable knowledge to each holder.
Chris: Additionally, you are working towards an original representation with unique art. What is the artwork? How does each token represent something new and unique?
Time Society team: Each card has gone through a series of revisions, tweaks, and updates to bring a collector the best conceptual glimpse of their piece of history. Ranging from 14 – 26 seconds in length, your animated card is given as much attention as is necessary to communicate the event or person. Bringing source material straight from the US archives, we are combining the art of digital illustration, animation, collage, video editing, digital painting and additional Time Society methods. We have unique indicators of authenticity that make your card unmistakable for any other brand. From the style of depiction to the typographical choices, the artist has taken great care in choosing designs that are representative of the time period.
Chris: Consequently, how many tokens will be released on the minting date? What will be the cost of one token of The Time Society? Do you also have a presale?
Time Society team: To launch The Time Society, we will be releasing Shaping the World Part One – a handpicked list of famous figures and monumental moments that serve as a variety pack of what’s to come. To make history accessible to as many people as possible, we’ll be taking our 30 cards and minting 150 each – totaling 4,500 NFTs that will be available completely FREE this Friday, June 17th at presale. It is a first come first serve basis, so make sure you have a chance at history! Each wallet will be allowed to mint 2 cards at launch to ensure that at least one card is something special to the owner. We are confident everyone can find a piece of history that speaks to them.
Chris: Each token is an animated piece of art. What more can the investors do with their tokens apart from investing in them?
Time Society team: With Web3, when you hold a Time Society NFT – you claim ownership of your slice of history on the Blockchain forever. With one-time minting, your piece of history becomes scarce as soon as it is deployed to the market – it will NEVER mint again. On our brainmap, we intend to incorporate IRL events and access to exclusive content. We’ll need to hear from the community, but it would be our dream to coordinate exhibitions to historical sites around the globe and partner with guides and historians so that we can all learn from their expertise. We’re looking into how we can create content in the form of interviews or presentations with experts in many aspects of culture and history, which would be made available exclusively to NFT holders. The nature of this project will also serve as a social experiment to see what people and events the community clings to. As cards are traded, we’ll be able to see the market value of these figures and events in a new way. It may tell us more about ourselves than we first expect.
Chris: The team has put in a lot of effort in explaining the idea and theme of the NFT. Who all are behind the Time Society? How does each one of them contribute to developing The Time Society NFT?
Time Society team: The team consists of 3 individuals – a historian who serves as the scribe for the project, researching the contributions, context, and implications of the NFTs depicted in the collection. The historian then translated these findings and hand-wrote all of the descriptions. Then, there’s the artist – whose grandfather served in WWII in the battle of D-Day all the way to the Ardenne forests. This inspired a lifelong passion for history and became their focus of study at liberal arts college where they earned a bachelor’s degree in illustration with a minor in business. Then, there’s our code master – with a degree in Digital Media, they have managed the metadata generation, smart contract deployment, and website development of The Time Society endeavor.
Chris: The series has 4500 tokens and is named “Shaping the World Collection”. What is the upcoming series? What else do you have on your plans? How does The Time Society shape up in the future?

We’ll be leaning into community feedback on the future of official Time Society releases. While we already have a few lined up, we want to give our community some control over what comes in the future. We will post polls that may very well dictate what is coming. We want a community that is engaged and takes a true interest in the product, and what it could do for history on Web3.
Chris: Before we come to a close, please share the minting process of the tokens? Can these NFTs be bought with hard currencies as well?
Time Society team: Everyone can mint on our website at thetimesociety.xyz. If you prefer, you can also mint directly from the contract. This first release is totally free, however, it is housed on the ETH network so any interested collectors will need an ETH wallet and will be responsible for the associated gas fees. Our Website and Twitter is the best way to stay informed on news and announcements. We are excited to see you join The Time Society on this journey and assist in immortalizing history onto the blockchain. See you Friday!
