In case you missed his illustrious career, AB de Villiers is nothing short of a superstar in the sport of cricket. During his 15-year international career, he was named the ICC ODI Player of the Year, not one, not two, but three times! Today, these fans finally have something to cheer for again.
The partnership with Myria Games will see the birth of the first celebrity-backed cricket blockchain game. The South African cricketer has chosen to develop this game on the mobile platform, using a play-and-earn model. The game will look to mirror the thrill of playing cricket on the field.
This is not the cricket star’s first stint in the NFT space. Earlier this year, he was actively involved in the Rebel Bots NFT project, DeRace NFT, Art Against War, and several others. AB de Villiers and Myria Games aim to introduce one of the largest sports communities to blockchain gaming. Their passion, knowledge, and love for the game will make the in-game experience even better. While players can earn monetary rewards through the game, gameplay will be the top priority.
All things considered, the parties are planning to launch this game in Q2 2023, on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
