Eurovision Winners Kalush Orchestra Release NFT For Ukraine

The most recent victors of the Eurovision Song Contest, Kalush Orchestra, are releasing an NFT for charity. All of the money will be going to their home country of Ukraine in some way. This comes as they continue to find themselves in an ongoing conflict. Metahistory is hosting the auction.

The NFT by Kalush Orchestra began its auction on May 25th and will last until tomorrow, May 28th. The auction, taking place on the Meta History platform, has a minimum bid of 10 ETH, and there is still over a day left.

Interestingly, the platform is allowing users to purchase the NFT in either fiat or cryptocurrency. This gives them choice and creates a friendly competition for what type of currency can bring the most donations.

With the eventual purchase of the NFT, the auction’s winner will be given many benefits. A 100% unique digital NFT file featuring a microphone and Kalush Orchestra. Also, an exclusive meeting and dinner with members of the Kalush Orchestra. As well as an opportunity to receive the physical object, the Crystal Microphone. Only if the bid is higher than the fiat currency bid.

In more detail, the raffle is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), who organise the contest.

 

Eurovision Song Contest 2022

Last week in Turin, Italy, 40 countries participated in the famous competition. Removed from the event this year was Russia. Kalush Orchestra of Ukraine won the competition with their song ‘Stefania’. Until the public vote, it looked to be the UK’s Sam Ryder with ‘Space Man’ who was going to come out victorious. However, the voters from home were clearly supportive of the song, as well as the country’s recent struggles, and voted for Ukraine.

Since the beginning of their struggles, Ukraine, both the people and Government, have welcomed the help of crypto-based donations, and NFTs to gather support and donations to support the country during the ongoing conflict.
