Krapopolis

It has been announced that Fox is collaborating with the creator of Rick & Morty, Dan Harmon, to create a new animated NFT series titled ‘Krapopolis’, which is an animated comedy series. As well as this, Fox is announcing their NFT company to “help art meet technology”. The show will break new technological ground in its distribution and marketing.

Built on NFTs is Dan Harmon’s new show, Krapopolis.

The ‘Krapopolis’ Series

Krapopolis is being created as an animated comedy series, similar to Harmon’s famous Rick & Morty, however, this one will be set in ancient Greece and “it’s centred on a flawed family of humans, gods and monsters that try to run one of the world’s first series without killing each other.” It is set to be the first-ever animated series curated entirely on the blockchain. It is Fox’s first move into the NFT ecosystem of any kind. Fox has also said that they are debuting a new NFT company named ‘Blockchain Creative Labs’.

The voice cast is as follows: Duncan Trussell, Pam Murphy, Hannah Waddingham, Richard Ayoade and Matt Berry.

Fox Entertainment’s CEO, Charlie Collier told advertisers during a company presentation: “As an advertiser-focused, artist-first and animation-obsessed company, Fox is going to take advertisers into the world of blockchain-powered tokens, including NFTs, and Dan’s series, currently entitled Krapopoliswill be the first-ever curated entirely on the blockchain. And just as we’re doing this for our own animation, we will also help your brands connect directly with fans and enthusiasts through NFTs. With and for you, Fox will help art meet brands meet technology.”

Created will be a dedicated marketplace for the ‘Krapopolis’ series, sold will be digital goods like NFTs and experience-based tokens.

About Dan Harmon

Dan Harmon is an American writer, producer and actor. Some of his best-known work is ‘Ricky & Morty’, which he co-created, and ‘Community’, which he created and produced. He has been active since 1996 working on various projects.

In addition to his most famous work, Harmon also co-founded the alternative television network and website, Channel 101. They have a non-profit, monthly short film festival in LA. Participants submit a short film in the format of a pilot under five minutes in length. The event is structured such that a panel of previously successful submitters choose what pilots are shown, and a live audience at The Downtown Independent decides which pilots continue as a series for the next screening. Krapopolis is his next project of work.

The other co-creator of Rick & Morty, Justin Roiland released doodle NFTs last year on Nifty Gateway. These NFTs were titled ‘The best I Could Do’. These included a Rick & Morty doodle, as well as some other random doodles. Auctioned off for $290,000 was ‘The Smintons’, a 1/1. ‘It’s Basically Tree Guy’ went for the least, with the edition of 100 going for $10 each on primary sales, and the last sale for that one is $500. This collection was followed by an auction at Sotheby’s.
