The popular pfp NFT collection, Lazy Lions, has suffered a hack via Discord. According to the official Lazy Lions Twitter team, the attack happened yesterday. Significantly, the attack seems to have penetrated many other massive NFT projects throughout the day. As of now, it is uncertain what the cause is, but with so many projects affected, it could be seriously damaging.
Lazy Lions NFT Discord hack is part of a wider breach.
The Lazy Lions NFT project was one of the earliest to notice the Discord hack. In a tweet, they said, “Our Discord was compromised, do NOT click on any links, do not mint. Threats have been removed. However, we will continue to monitor the server until completely safe.”
Whilst, it is unclear the damage so far, the first step is finding the hack. Now, the Lazy Lions NFT team will look to investigate how it happened to their 152 thousand member server.
According to @lukenamop, the Discord security expert, this is a wide-reaching hack that has infiltrated many Discord servers in the last day. This hack includes projects such as Cool Cats, Alien Frens, RTFKT, Axie Infinity and many others.
The list of NFT projects he tweeted contains over 19 Discord servers with over 2,765,000 users. This is a gigantic security breach, and these teams will want to sort the issue out ASAP.
It is an important week for the Lazy Lions NFT collection. In the coming hours, NFT holders will have the ability to get a Lazy Cub NFT. There is an upcoming public sale for those who aren’t NFT holders via a dutch auction.
