Today, the giant blockchain tech provider QuickNode revealed its NFT-related acquisition: Icy Tools. At this moment, the platform is a leading side for in-depth NFT analysis. Together, the duo will integrate the Icy Tools API into the QuickNode platform. This will allow QuickNode developers and businesses to access key data in the web3 sector.
Why did QuickNode purchase Icy Tools?
On May 13th, QuickNode announced that it has purchased Icy Tools, one of the top NFT analysis sites. The platform has been adding value to the NFT market since 2021.
Basically, collectors use the site to track NFT sales and discover trending projects. Furthermore, NFT holders can check out the transaction history and portfolio value, based on their interests.
Part of the innovation behind Icy Tools is the GraphQL API. This technology allows developers to track NFT prices, traits, and wallets data. The API also offers data from popular marketplaces such as Looks Rare, OpenSea, and more.
Therefore, QuickNode acquired Icy Tools to integrate its API into its own platform. As a result, QuickNode users will soon gain access to analytics in the new infrastructure. For example, the integration will include Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, and more.
Nevertheless, Icy Tools will keep its platform functionality intact. In the future, though, its GraphQL API will move to the QuickNode platform.
Of course, the QuickNode COO Jackie De La Rosa believes the change will innovate the web3 sector:
“We’re thrilled about the capabilities that will open up to our customers as a result of this transaction,” she said. “This is a natural fit for QuickNode because NFT integrations require sophisticated blockchain infrastructure behind the scenes.”
What is QuickNode?
QuickNode is a leading provider of APIs designed for web3 companies and developers. The company has been founded in 2017, at the very beginning of the NFT market. Over the years, QuickNode has been bringing its own input into the outstanding web3 evolution.
Back in October 2021, the company raised a whopping $35M in a Series A funding round. The session was led by Tiger Global, along with Soma Capital, Crossbeam, Arrington XRP Capital, and more.
Now that QuickNode acquired Icy Tools, the company will deliver even more solutions to web3 businesses worldwide. This announcement comes as the web3 world evolves at the speed of light.
For instance, the blockchain solution API3 released the first random number generator for web3 projects this month. In essence, the generator uses quantum mechanics that benefit dApps.
