The Doodles NFT project made a cryptic teaser post on Twitter for an upcoming announcement. In the teaser video, a Doodles character was asleep in bed and then gets woken up by his phone. He then checks the notification, which reads “Doodles Tweeted: Friday.”
Doodles NFT Friday Announcement Theories
As the NFT community patiently waits on what the Doodles announcement could be, some put together some theories. Among them is Twitter user @benchmann42. According to his post, Doodles is working to reach its mission of “bringing millions of people into their world”.
On a thread, he said as the project aims to make NFTs truly mainstream, it will partner with a well-established company that shares the same vision. The Twitter user said this could be Dapper Labs.
Two of the Doodles founders, Evan Keast and Jordan Castro, already worked with Roham Gharegozlou, the CEO at Dapper Labs. The three worked on CryptoKitties back in 2017. Also, in January 2022, Castro made a tweet that says Roham and Doodles could work together in expanding Doodles’ ecosystem.
So the theory is this: Doodles NFT will launch a marketplace with the help of Dapper Labs and Shopify. The marketplace will then allow non-crypto natives and experienced users to buy collectibles from the user’s Doodles. There is a huge possibility that this might be the case. It is in line with the project’s 2022 roadmap that says “create a mainstream NFT purchasable with a credit card that is cross-licensed from our collectors’ Doodles.”
Another theory that is less likely but not entirely impossible comes from Twitter user @punk3178. The post said, “Rumor floating around [that] Doodles [are] getting a serum this week [to convert] from DOOdles to POOdles … I’m not joking.”
Well, we can only wait to find out what the announcement will be. Whatever it is, it has helped boost the value of the project already supported by celebrities. Doodles NFTs have seen a 362% increase in volume and a 329% increase in sales over a 24-hour period after its ‘friday’ tweet.
