Oh no, who would have thought that the NFT legend Beeple would miss out on one day of his Everydays? But strictly speaking, he didn’t miss out at all. Rather than posting his Everydays’ artwork for the 2nd of May online, he revealed the art piece on The Tonight Show instead. So relax Beeple, it’s all good!
Beeple finally missed one day of his Everydays, or did he?
All this while, Beeple made it a routine to reveal his Everydays artwork online on a daily basis. But yesterday, it was a special occasion for the popular NFT artist. In honor of the 15th anniversary of his Everydays project, Beeple stopped by The Tonight Show yesterday to create a piece of digital art for the project live.
Before creating the Everydays’ art, Beeple asked Jimmy Fallon, the host of the popular TV show for suggestions on what the picture should look like. In short, Jimmy told Beeple that The Tonight Show is all about making people laugh. And (jokingly) fall asleep as well. In addition, the host would like to see the show’s moon logo appear in the picture too.
Once Beeple got the ideas needed for the art, he went on to complete the artwork in 25 minutes. As you could probably guess, Beeple later revealed the Everydays for the 2nd of May 2022 at the end of the TV show. As seen in the picture above, there’s a giant head of Jimmy Fallon, the moon, the cherry blossom trees, and people sleeping on the grounds. It’s perfect, isn’t it?
But even though Beeple managed to reveal the Everydays artwork on TV, he forgot to post it online. He only remembered it at 12:05 AM on the 3rd of May and quickly posted it on Twitter. Nonetheless, the perfectionist artist said that since he didn’t post it on the 2nd of May, technically he already missed one day of his Everydays. For that, the artist couldn’t help but blamed himself for his negligence.
Final thoughts
But to the fans of Beeple, it wasn’t a big deal at all. The prominent digital artist had unveiled his masterpiece on the TV show and that’s all that matters. If you haven’t seen it, you can watch how Beeple created the artwork live on The Tonight Show.
