NFT Ethics, known for offering insight into hacks and scams, is under fire from the NFT community. In this tweet, the popular account that looks into the moral behaviour of the NFT community came across an unfamiliar word.In fact, NFT Ethics said, “We have to admit that we had never heard of that word, so had to look up “reliable” sources to understand if this could mean anything.”NFT Ethics discovers ‘new’ word! The word was, in fact, Cowabunga. Of course, Twitter users quickly responded to the NFT Ethics tweet. Many questioned how one could go through their life without hearing one of the most iconic catchphrases ever, ‘Cowabunga’.Made famous by The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the ’80s, and in particular Michelangelo, it is huge a part of pop culture history. What’s more, Bart Simpson occasionally uses the line ‘Cowabunga’.It’s safe to say that many saw the funny side of the fact that NFT Ethics had to google the phrase as if it were some magical secret word. One user, @threadoor, said, “Y’all trust an account that had to research what cowabunga was?”Another user, @codethsmithy, offered a satirical analysis, “Guys. I think “Cowabunga” might be the key to all this. The key to all the corruption, insider trading, pumping and dumping we’ve seen in our NFT industry. It all goes back to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.”The news that NFT Ethics doesn’t know the word cowabunga is strangely relevant. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are making a comeback, and they have an official TMNT NFT project coming soon. Are you tired of missing important NFT drops?Just check out our NFT Calendar!Receive the biggest NFT news of the day & recommendations in our Daily newsletter.
