While surfing a feed of any social network, you will definitely bump into an NFT profile picture. Some creators and collectors go even further, turning their NFTs into IRL stuff in the form of anything in the world from phones cases and apparel to jewelry.
Thus, the LVMH emperor’s son Alexandre Arnault has recently got obsessed with CryptoPunks NFTs and turned his CryptoPunk #3167 Twitter and Instagram PFP into a one-and-only luxurious pendant with the skillful hands of Tiffany & Co’s goldsmith. He did so just days after his father Bernard Arnault expressed a cautious but majorly positive opinion on entering the non-fungible realm.
The CryptoPunk #3167 is a pixelated face, wearing 3D red and blue glasses and an earring. Thus, Tiffany’s master created an exclusive pink gold pendant of a CryptoPunk with sapphire and baguette-cut Mozambique ruby glasses and a yellow diamond round earring. Both CryptoPunk’s NFT number and the Tiffany & Co brand name are engraved on the jewelry piece.
According to Vogue Business, CryptoPunk #3167, was acquired for ETH 160. The LVMH company also confirmed that Alexandre’s profile picture was legitimate.
Such an extravagant move can be a milestone celebrating the start of a new luxury epoch for LVMH and Tiffany & Co. We bet thousands of high-profile NFT owners will rush to Arnault’s jewelry company to turn their PFPs into luxury masterpieces adorned with diamonds, rubies, and emeralds. Let’s wait and see.
